Plaza Lee Garden @ Hatyai

Hello there beautiful! I have been missing for a few weeks since my previous floating market post. It is not because I have been lazing about and not desiring to update my blog... It is just that I had been staying in Bangi to attend a 2-week training course which has arranged by my employer.

My stay in Bangi made me difficult to update my blog cuz there is no WiFi provided and it is hard to upload the photos by using the Blogger app. Hence, I only update this blog by now. Please, please forgive me!! 。・゚・(ノД`)・゚・。

I frequently heard people saying Hatyai town is quite small as the town is built in a square area concept. Therefore, you won't be easily lost your way as you are walking or visiting stores in that square concept.

Yet, from what I learnt (in Wikipedia), Hatyai is the largest city in Songkhla province and always mistaken as main city instead as a business centre. Then I only realize why people talked that Hatyai is a small town. It is because the tourists are only attracted or visiting the shopping area which is that square area.

Hatyai has many tourist attractions such as the Ton Nga Chang Waterfall or temples (based on Wikipedia). Due to limited time, my colleague and I did not have the opportunity to visit those places except the shopping area.

We walked round the town and noticed many stores were closed. Nothing to see... what a disappointment! Before we headed back in the evening, the stalls from nowhere were placed beside the streets. The hawkers started to set up and open their business. It is true when people said that only at night, there will be a great deal of things you can see. In conclusion, please do stay a night there.

When you are in a foreign country,  for sure, you want to taste their local food, right? So do I. But, all the eating houses or cafes there were selling Chinese food like chicken rice or bak kut teh (non-halal). My Malay colleague can't have these kind of food. LOL

After walking and finding food, lastly we found a stall which is halal one. I bought the famous Thai dessert, which is mango sticky rice. But due to my hunger, I forgot to get a picture of it. It's rather delicious and sweet, especially the sticky rice! Yum yum.

We headed into a 7-11 store to get some beverages. One word from my mouth when entered the store is WOW. Their 7-11 stores are way better than ours 7-11 stores!! No, should be the best one! The shop is bigger and more choices such as beauty products, frozen food and many more for you. The best part is the pricing for the items are cheap! Our 7-11 stores always the expensive one than the supermarkets or mini marts. Geez. I seriously amazed with their 7-11 and the items in there.

After having fun in 7-11, it started to rain and since the streets have nothing to see, we went into the Plaza Lee Garden which is a shopping mall and also a hotel.

When we went into the building, we were stopped by guards who were stationed at the entrance. We must walk pass the metal checking machine/gate (those used in airports) and the guards asked us to spread out our bags for them to check. The checkings are very strict for visitors entering the premise!
Not only Plaza Lee Garden, even the Central mall opposite the place also has strict checking for cars when entering the parkings. The cause of these strict checks is because Hatyai has been under bomb attacks.

Haiz. We want to have fun in Hatyai, enjoying their local food and shop for cheap items even it was a one day trip.. But it was raining, nothing to see on the streets, no local food and we only can hang out in a shopping centre! ('A`)

Luckily, on that day, the mall was holding a flea market or bazaar! Most of the items traded in that bazaar were handmade things such as bags, key chains, earrings, baskets and many more.

And hence, we bought souvenirs there.. There has a girl who sold key chains with cartoon faces. She drew them all by herself. We chose the key chains which most resemblance to our friends or colleagues.

The clothes there are inexpensive and reasonable. Still, I did not buy any cloth cuz their style of clothing are mostly clubbing or "princess" (those laces and pinky) type. I'm not hating those people wearing these sort of clothes, it's just that I am not suitable in wearing these styles.

In the remainder, we spent the whole evening in the Plaza Lee Garden before heading to the floating market. Even though I complained a lot here, we still have fun and exciting trip in Hatyai. I wish I can travel there again in future and that time, I will stay a night in Hatyai to have more fun!

xoxo,
your lil BFF (*´ω`*)
