Aji-Ya Japanese Restaurant @ OBD Garden Tower Condo, Taman Desa

OBD Garden Tower Condominium, Taman Desa is popular among Japanese expatriates and there is a big Japanese community lived there. Within the condo, there lies a hidden gem. Aji-Ya Japanese Restaurant, which previously named as Matsuba Shokudo.

When my dad brought us to this restaurant, I hardly can see their signboard outside the condominium. If you search for this restaurant with Waze or GPS, search for the OBD Garden Tower Condominium.

You just inform the security guard when entering the condo that you are visiting the Aji-Ya Japanese Restaurant. After you parked your car, you will notice a small pathway beside the playground nearby the security house. Walk along the pathway, enter the building and you will see a Japanese mini market, tailor shop and even hair salon. You will come upon the swimming pool and  at your right side, there's the restaurant.

This small-sized restaurant looks cozy and homey. Due to limited seats, you sometimes require to make booking on weekend. There is some plums wine displayed at the rack opposite the payment counter. I noticed the jars written the owners' names and the date they bought. The wine seems like homemade wine by the restaurant. Regular customers must bought and placed it in the restaurant.

Sushi bar. The sensei make the sushi slowly, not in hurry to serve to customers. This is what we need, QUALITY. After the sensei finished making the sushi, the sushi/sashimi will be bring to the kitchen before serve to us. I think the chef wants to have the final touch?? Lol.

Green tea RM1 per cup. It's refillable. When the first time we went, I thought is non-refillable. This is because that time, the shop is full with customers  and the staff were too busy and unable to auto refill our cups.

Some appetizer before main meal. Chuka Kurage RM10.

Sake Cheese Fried Maki RM22.

Soft Shell Crab Avocado Roll RM22.

Katsu Curry Rice (together with a bowl of soup) RM18. This curry rice not too small portion, not to big. Just enough. I love the (Japanese) rice as it is not too sticky and won't make you full easily.

Nankotsu Ramen RM15. Non-halal. The broth is very good! And the ramen is tangy! My big sis is quite picky when comes to food. She don't like outside food with too much MSG (in other word, Ajinomoto). Her throat will be extremely dry for the whole day and she keep drink water. But, she loves this ramen as there is (no or) less MSG in it.

Sake Tataki & Soba Set RM30. Wow, their meal sets are the best in KL. LARGE DOUBLE REGULAR SET at REASONABLE PRICE. My God. If you compare this with Sushi/Pasta Zanmai's meal sets, their sets are more smaller. This restaurant gives you two main dish in a set in a regular portion. You will get full with their meal sets!

HanChan Set RM26. See the bowl of ramen? Regular sized with regular sized garlic rice. Seriously reasonable!

Opps, Shaky hand when took photo! Curry set RM26.

Buta Niku Piman Gyu Set (non-halal) RM26. A plate of stir fried bamboo shot with white rice and a bowl of ramen.

Chicken Teriyaki Set RM22. This is one main-dish-meal-set. My aunt can't eat much but hey, you see the price? I rather take at least RM26's meal set and make myself full enough!

♤ Menu: Simple and mainly on ramen and sushi.
♤ Food: Regular portion/double regular portion!
♤ Beverage: As usual, drink green tea. Remember! It's refillable!
♤ Environment: Quite limited seats (you may need make booking if go in as group). Staff are friendly.
♤ Price: Reasonable. There is service charge of 10%.

I totally love to make a comeback there (since I stay nearby)! Why not?! \(^A^)/
