Restaurant Nak Won Korean BBQ @ Taman Danau Desa

Sometimes, when I was watching Running Man shows at the night, especially when they have the 'eating/tasting food' missions... OMG.. My stomach sure is growling and craving for the Korean food. So tempting.. Yum yum.

My boyfriend and I went to the nearest Korean restaurant from my house. I want to bring him to Restaurant Seoul in Taman Danau Desa. However, it was closed as I noticed no lights on from its window (or the restaurant maybe closed down as per my aunty mentioned). I dunno!

So we decided to go any Korean restaurant around there which is Restaurant Nak Won Korean BBQ. I usually prefer going to Restaurant Seoul, so I never tried this one before. The restaurant is located above a supermarket called Sri Kota. I have learned that Restaurant Nak Won also opened by a Korean and they have a branch in Ampang.

We decided to order other food rather than having BBQ meats which are bibimbap, kimchi soup and pancakes.

Banchan (means side dishes) are a basic meal in Korea to be served together with the main/secondary cuisine. Sometimes, banchan are also considered as cold dishes as they usually made and preserved in the refrigerator. They are served in small portion and can be replenished if not enough. Kimchi is a MUST when having the Korean cuisine.

For me, white rice makes a good chemistry with a kimchi soup. This kimchi soup quite a big portion for the two of us. I quite like this kimchi soup as it's not so spicy and a bit sourish taste. Drooling while typing this blog... (*@o@*)

They have limited types of pancakes, so we went for a seafood pancake. Korean pancakes do not disappoint me always cuz unlike pizza, they are not made with dough and baked in oven. They were fried on pans/woks.

Bibimbap is a traditional dish in Korea. The dish is served in a bowl of warm white rice with various seasoned vegetables and mix with the chilli pepper sauce. The ingredients are stirred thoroughly before eating. This bibimbap is called as 'dolsot bibimbap' as the dish is served in a hot stone pot. As you stirred the ingredients in the hot stone pot, it's sizzles and makes a golden layer and crispy rice.

The chilli pepper sauce goes into the stone pot! Everyone's favourite (said the Running Man members cuz almost every Korean dishes can use this sauce.) The sauce actually looks like the red sweet sauce (a kind of sauce that Chinese loves to use).

Mix! Stir! Wow. I'm seriously hungry now.... Drools....

Both of us almost can't finish these food as the banchan are refillable and these three dishes are large portion. If you pay the bill with cash, there will have cash discount! After discount, we only paid RM55! Cheap!

The staff are friendly and the environment is quite clean (except a bit smoky cuz some customers preferred to BBQ their own meat on their table, rather than the staff helping them to BBQ the meat). After paying the bill, the staff also offers fruits like watermelon or ginger tea to help digestion and also gives some Korean candies before we makes our exit.
